Office 2021 is the latest ‘perpetual licence’ or non-subscription version of Microsoft Office for consumers and small businesses released in October 2021. It’s what Microsoft calls a ‘perpetual licence’ version. A single payment for ongoing use of the software with no annual payments (aka ‘subscription). The replacement for Office 2019. What does Office 2021 Professional Plus include?
Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 includes Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Skype for Business, Teams, and Word. Access and Publisher aren’t available for devices running macOS
What is Office 2021?
It’s the perpetual, single payment or non-subscription version of Microsoft Office for consumers and small businesses. Office 2021 will include in all bundles:
- Word 2021
- Excel 2021
- PowerPoint 2021
Depending on the bundle / package of Office 2021 it can also have:
- Outlook 2021
- Access 2021 (Windows only)
- Publisher 2021 (Windows only)
OneNote is also included but it’s the same as in Office 2019.
There will be no more features added, unlike Microsoft 365 annual plans. Office 2021 will NOT have most of the popular cloud based features like Excel data types (Stock prices etc.). But Stock images etc. is included as well as Translation are available.
Important: This is a key card and NOT a DVD If you have Office through a Microsoft 365 (or Office 365) plan, that’s separate from Office 2021 or Office LTSC 2021. For example, if you are already using Microsoft 365 or if your organization deployed Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise (previously named Office 365 Pro Plus) to the users in your organization, you don’t need Office 2021 or Office LTSC 2021. You already have all the features that are included in Office 2021 or Office LTSC 2021, along with many more features that aren’t in Office 2021 or Office LTSC 2021.
